Christmas 2016

It was a successful Christmas in the Lyles house, with our quickly-approaching 3 year-old understanding a lot more about all of the celebrations this year.  He liked singing Christmas songs, watching classic Christmas movies this year ("Can we watch the Grinch again, Mommy?"), and he even enjoyed watching a live musical performance of Christmas songs at Grace Cathedral that seemed more like a children's play.  And of course, he was obviously stoked about the presents on Christmas day and all of the Christmas treats.  His verbatim reaction Christmas morning waking up and seeing a bunch of presents under the tree was:

"Santa came!" (pause)
"Why did Santa come into my house?" (pause)
"I didn't get to say thank you to Santa!"

It was also a special holiday this year because Chris' parents were able to come join us from Minnesota for all of the fun, including lots of Lego building and even Spencer's first ice skating adventure (which he loved).

And of course, we had to hit an indoor pool to keep this monkey occupied over the break.  Somehow it seems that Spencer figured out how to actually swim when it is shallow enough for him to stand up when he is done!
