Spencer-isms and fun times this spring

So I was looking through my phone lately, and I realized that we must have been excited for Spring because I have a lot of random pictures and videos to share this month. Apologies for the long post.  But before I just post a bunch of those, I also wanted to try to capture some of the funniest Spencer sayings in this post so that I don't forget the adorable and hilarious things he is talking about these days.  (This blog post will be here when he is 18, right? Let's all pray for format updates that preserve this, okay -- I am not also working on a hardcopy baby book over here)
  1. He mixes up the cutest words/phrases, like calling tunnels "funnels" (he's been on the tunnel tip for months now: in his books, for his toys, outside, basically everywhere); watermelon "water-lemon"; Sesame Street "Christmas tree" (that one doesn't make much sense except for a few similar consonants, but it is cute); and calling spiky things in the yard "spicy." Not to mention that he calls backpacks "back-kaks" and being tired "tottered."
  2. Now that he is potty trained, he is appreciating toilet humor like all children. But he is also into the basics, telling me on a regular basis that "poop comes out my butt, and pee comes out my penis."  Thanks for keeping me updated, bud.
  3. He also just says things that crack me up all the time, like yelling "Mama, I'm awake!" or "Momma, Daddy!" every morning from his room at least 5 or 6 times (including after I actually go in there, as if I wasn't aware of the situation). He then comes into the bedroom where Chris is still sleeping and just yells, "Daddy, wake up," which I am sure is Chris' preferred way to get up early in the morning. And when he doesn't want to go to bed or leave, he constantly asks for "just 2 more minutes."
Okay, on with the photo documentation.  Here are some pictures from us in Golden Gate Park on Mother's Day, playing at the beach and the pool, chillin at home, and celebrating with friends.

 And of course, Go Warriors!

Here are some video gems of Spencer too. First, a description of where he lives (sorry for the mouth full of 'waterlemon'):

This trick never gets old:

Gotta add some wrestling moves to the (somewhat uncoordinated) ocean play:

I swear that he was telling me this hammer looked like a penis one morning!  UPDATE:  In hearing him talk about this tool again, I am convinced he is saying "Pick Axe" now.  No idea where he learned that term, but definitely higher brow.

And a little mini-rendition of ABC's, followed by going through a tunnel (shocker):

Finally, we took a nice 2-night weekend trip up to Pt Reyes in early June and enjoyed the Bay, a hike in the National Park, and the ocean on the way home -- it was a gorgeous mini-trip, made possible by my boss allowing us to stay in his house on Tomales Bay:
