Catching up
Before all the holiday photo taking begins, wanted to post a few more pictures from November. At 8 months old, Spencer has at least 6 teeth (it's hard to keep track when he hates you trying to put your finger in his mouth to check things out) and has already had three colds. He is finally sleeping for longer stretches at night (we'll see how long that lasts) and is very interested in pulling up and starting to walk around along the furniture. He can get into the crawling position on all fours but still pretty much hates that he can't move and starts crying immediately, so we'll see if he ever figures that out or just eventually walks instead. He also makes lots of noises that sound like Mama and Dada, but obviously not with real meaning yet. And he can wave his hands now but hasn't quite figured out that it signals hello or goodbye.
Here is belated Halloween shot before we headed to the airport to fly to Maryland.
And some other random ones after all our travels:
A box is all this guy is getting for Christmas! :) He loved playing in here while we watched Big Game.

He really enjoyed this for a good portion of the afternoon, as evidenced in this clip:
Okay, and one more video of a somewhat engaged game of peek a boo:

Maryland, My Maryland
Our final trip for 2014 (and maybe for many more months to come) was to
Maryland from Halloween through the first few days of November. It was
wonderful for Spencer to meet the rest of the Rees clan -- all 4 of my
siblings and 9 of his 10 cousins. I didn't bring our camera along
unfortunately since I was traveling solo, but here are a few mostly phone pictures of the fun. I wish I had captured more of our brief time with good friends!
Here is what it is really like to try to take a group shot of my family:
